After 1 month of struggling with when, what and how to eat ketogenically, I realized I needed help. I saw on one of the Keto FB pages that coaching was available. After 4.5 months Keto I put up a 7.3 Hemoglobin A1C, a big improvement over the 10.2 I put up in late November. Secret for me was a weekly call with the awesomest coach alive, Jessyca Reynolds, just sticking to the plan, getting it all in the diary and not getting on a scale. Ever. That weigh (haha) I’ve avoided judging/condemning and self-congratulating, things I kind of always did 4.6 months ago. Planning to close my eyes, put my fingers in my ears and start humming show tunes next week when I get on the scale for my physical. Life is definitely better these days.
I would recommend coaching to anyone wanting to get Keto "down pat." I met with Linda via the computer once a week and she helped answer my questions; suggested resources such as websites, books and recipes; helped with macros; provided much needed support and so much more.
I knew that I personally needed accountability and by having once a week meetings, she held me to that while I adjusted to the changes in my life due to Keto.
I started with coach Lisa nine months ago — long enough go grow and birth a baby! And with the work we did on roots of my eating issues I feel I really have had a rebirth of sorts. I no longer binge, no longer think about food 24/7 (yes, I even dreamed of food), no longer run to food for comfort, love, distraction or as a sedative or tranquilizer. She worked with me through three exceptionally hard events in my life and I stayed Keto strong through it all. I could not have done it without my coach.
I came to coaching after being Zero Carb for close to 2 years (which I began to heal a brain injury.) I am well versed in nutrition but something was amiss with my body and my ability to lose weight. Hiring Mary was my missing link. Mary was able to break down what I was doing correctly and what needed to change in order to reach my goals. Not only was she supportive with my ketogenic diet, she went above and beyond researching alternative ideas in order to help my healing. The knowledge sharing with this program is invaluable whether you are on track, stuck or simply questioning how you are doing. It’s worth every penny.
